This is pretty sweet. I just picked this game up for ten bucks and blazed through it, and it was a surprising amount of fun. Now I see this, and Vinyl is one of my favorite ponies. A good blend of both subject materials.
I still never understood why they decked Raiden's body out with state-of-the-art cybernetic parts, but couldn't replace his eye. Budget cuts? Or just him being all 'No! Lemme keep the missing eye!'
Honestly, I liked Raiden's MGS4 body more. I have no real problem with the new body, but the last one seemed more... Metal-Gear-ish while the new one seems like some sort of attempt to make him seem bigger.
It may have to do with the fact that "Revengerance" is a departure from the standard MGS line of thought. There's very little stealth or espionage to it. It's literally "Run around like a meth-fueled Ninja chopping people apart because reasons."
Yeeah, but part of the idea of a ninja is stealth; Raiden is less of a ninja and more of a butcher.
They shoulda made it so you could choose between stealth and running around chopping people up, in my opinion. Woulda been more replay value trying to do the game in a pacifst way without having to have some sort of special weapon.
No no, you bring up an excellent point. Everything about a ninja is hush-hush quiet. Raiden in Revengerance is SLICE SLICE WITTY REMARK. An option to go stealth over murder-spree would have been very welcome, though even with the DLC side stories it seems the focus of this game is to carve your way through each stage. A pity it could have been so much more.
It's only got Metal Gear on the cover so folks buy it, I guess. Though, regardless of the source material, the pic is still sweet
