I have to say that I was really touched by the alternate reality of Adventure Time - one in which Simon Petrikov saves the world (and ultimatly denies the Lich his existence - well, A Lich...)

It leaves me to wonder - was Simon a hero in the true timeline? Did he ever encounter the Lich?

Moreso, does that mean all the candy people and so on and so forth are mutant descendants of humanity? So many questions!

I don't think simon/ice king ever encountered the lich in the original reality. More the just evil the Lich is intelligent, very intelligent. He doesn't fall for he same thing twice. The lich regarded the Ice King as nothing more than a minor nuisance which is why he ignored him and the Ice king was the one to stop him the second time after he possessed PB.

If the Ice King had fought the lich before the lich would have reacted more seriously to his presence.

How do we know the Lich doesn't fall for the same thing twice, first off?

Secondly, what's to fall for? I mean, Ooo has existed for 1000 years - and so has the Lich. Would it be so unbelievable that at some point Simon froze the guy for a lengthy vacation? I somehow doubt he was twiddling his thumbs for the better part of a millenium.

What if the Lich king was like,some sort of anti-Christal dictator figure, who wiped out humanity by launching nukes,and straight up being the villain bad ass / So-evil-he's-totally-unlikeable in a likeable way?
Who was also a magical lich.

I think the episode 'Finn the Human' established that the Lich was created when the final bomb that would have destroyed humanity fell.

It could also be that the Nuke thrower was turned into the Lich, thus in expanding The Villains evilness,and making it canon possible.
Would also give him a better back story.

I somehow doubt the 'nuke thrower' would willingly plant himself where he planned to have a bomb dropped that, for all intents and purposes, seemed designed to destroy everything. Not only would it be incredibly stupid, but even if it was his plan from the start, it seems to me it would be easier to initiate that sort of thing in a controlled environment.

I'm fairly certain, based on what we know, that the Lich's creation was accidental, and probably not a case of someone being hoist by his own petard.
