I saw this anime called Ayakashi (I think that was it's name) and lemme tell you... it... was... AWESOME!
This Medicine seller goes to this bride's house as she drops dead and ends up setting up stuff to hunt a Bakemono, or a Yokai. He has this sword that only unsheathes when he finds the monster's form, it's reason for being, and the heart of it's problem. Then when he does that a big ass monsterous cat appears and they fight in a display of artistic colours and spookyness.
... Anywho, the character there is one I am working on, and the giant monster is sort of what the Bakeneko looked like. It was so awesome I had to draw one like it.
